Research Scientist

Electrophoretic Mass Spectrometry Technology Corporation (EMAST) – Auburn, CA

Electrophoretic Mass Spectrometry Technology Corporation (EMAST) has an immediate opening for a research scientist (permanent, full time with salary based on experience) with mass spectrometry experience to join our growing R&D team in Auburn, CA (a small community 30 miles east of Sacramento in the Sierra foothills with a lower cost of living and a wider range of outdoor activities than larger metropolitan areas). EMAST is a well funded US company that is developing a fully integrated capillary electrophoresis – mass spectrometry system and has accomplished the first milestone of this project by producing an alpha prototype to achieve the required proof of principle.

The successful candidate will be involved in the beta prototype and pre-production phases of this project to carry out experiments and various tasks related to CE-MS instrumentation and methods development. A BS or MS in science or engineering with 2-5 years of related experience is required, although specific experience with CE and/or MS instrument development, vacuum technology, PCB troubleshooting, digital logic and electrical schematics would be a plus.
