First Meeting of the Interest group of Mass Spectrometrists in Pacific Northwest
Held in Health Sciences Building, University of Washington Campus, September 26, 2001
The meeting agenda (attachment) was prepared by Dominic Levasseur who introduced the BAMS model and led discussion.
Comments from audience on following topics from the agenda:
Organization Purpose - speaker invited for other occasion can be invited to present to the group, (the host should give at least 4 weeks notice)
- UW provides courses with MS topic which can be of interest to the community
Income - organization has IRS responsibilities
- corporate dues will cover - speaker accommodation (mainly meals, sharing cost with host)
By-laws - explained - annual meeting will be held 2003

Discussed the web site being hosted by the UW. More information was needed. It may be easier to have separate web host if we want a .org extension (seemed preferred option but more information needed).

Next meeting February/March 2002, outside dates when Pittcon and other conferences are held,
Web announcement should appear January
Location – there was a mention of having it at local companies - Agilent, Zymogenetics, Immunex
Email suggestions are solicited for topics, speakers
Web administrator - Sam Purvine (Institute for Systems Biology) volunteered for this position
